The investigation report was due Wednesday. But the Lalbagh police were unable to make the report that day. Subsequently, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akhter set a new date for October 26 for the presentation of the report.

The student from the Department of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University filed a rape case against Hasan Al Mamun, the coordinator of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Students’ Rights, at the Lalbagh Police Station on September 20. The statement named Nurul Haque Nur as an accessory to the rape.

The DU student requested the intervention of the Prime Minister for the trial

The other defendants in the case are Nazmul Hasan Sohag and Saiful Islam, joint coordinators of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Students’ Rights, Nazmul Huda, vice president of the organization, and Abdullah Baki, activist.

The plaintiff in the case petitioned the court on October 4 for the arrest of six defendants, including Nur. Since there is a provision for the arrest of the accused as soon as the case is filed and it is a case without bail, it is not necessary to request a new arrest.
