A torture and pornography case brought against a naked housewife in Noakhali’s Begumganj has been turned over to the Police Investigation Bureau (PBI) for further investigation.
District Police Superintendent Thursday night. Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter and said that the two cases were handed over to PBI following instructions from the police headquarters. Previously, Begumganj Police Deputy Inspector Mostaq Ahmed investigated two cases.
Defendant Abdur Rahim and local UP member Moazzem Hossain Sohag were sent to the Main Judicial Magistrates Court on Thursday. The court ordered the defendants to be sent to jail if they give a confessional statement under section 164.
On the night of September 2, the woman’s ex-husband went to her father’s house to receive her. Delwar, a local drug dealer and chief of the Delwar force, saw the matter. Around 10 pm, Delwar and his men entered the woman’s home and accused her of having immoral acts with other men. At that moment, they made a bad proposal to the woman and began to beat her because she did not agree. At one point, he beat the woman, undressed her, and recorded the video.
So far, 11 people have been arrested in that incident. Among them, Delwar Hossain Delu, head of Delwar Bahini and 8 others are in preventive detention.
