The bank said the measures will continue until the warning is lifted.

Bangladesh Bank is known to have recently received information that a North Korean hacker group called ‘Beagle Boys’ may carry out cyber attacks against banks. Given this, on August 28 a letter was sent to the banks to be vigilant. At the same time, an additional precaution is imposed, which still continues.

A Bangladeshi Bank official, who did not want to be named, said that last week, the Bangladesh Information Council (BCC) found malicious software or a virus in the online system of the country’s financial sector.
