The situation on the Indochina border is not calming down at all. A red alert was also issued on the northeast border of India in the warm weather.
Twice a week, clashes have broken out between Indian and Chinese forces. Although there was a slight confrontation between the two sides on the first day, it was reported that the clash was avoided on the second day. However, the situation in Ladakh has become so heated that there is a great possibility of another confrontation at any moment.
The Indian Defense Ministry has issued a high alert in all border areas with China for fear of clashes. Additional troops have been sent. According to Indian intelligence sources, China could launch a major offensive on the Chinese border in northeast India by keeping Indian troops busy at the southern end of Lake Pangong in eastern Ladakh.
From the night of August 29 to the morning of August 30, Indian and Chinese troops clashed on the southern shore of Lake Pangong. The Indian Defense Ministry said the same thing happened on August 31. However, this time there were no clashes. On August 31, the Indian army was surrounded by Chinese troops at the southern tip of Pangong. After a heated exchange of words, the two parties withdrew at the command of the commanders.
India claims that China is unfairly trying to enter Indian territory in the South Pangong area. But a statement issued by the Chinese embassy in Delhi said that Indian troops were occupying Chinese territory. That is opposed to the border agreement between India and China. China has demanded that Indian troops leave the area immediately.
Indian troops occupy a hill at the southern tip of Pangong. The source of the new conflict is the mountains. This is strategically important. Since the Indian army seized the hill, Chinese troops have repeatedly tried to evacuate Indian troops from the area. But the Indian army is taking advantage of the altitude. This is currently being debated. In fact, on August 31, when Chinese troops surrounded the Indian troops, a meeting was taking place between the commanders of the two countries in the nearby Chusul sector. News reached him of a new conflict. The commanders told the troops to leave. As a result, there was no major showdown.
Behind the controversy over South Pangong
The southern tip of Pangong has not been the subject of debate for so long. There was a dispute between the two countries for eight points in the far north of Pangong. The NSA was informed in a recent meeting with the head of the Intelligence and Investigation and Analysis Wing with the NSA India Ajit Doval that the People’s Liberation Army had accumulated a large contingent of troops on the Chinese border in northeast India. China is believed to be preparing to attack the Arunachal and Sikkim borders. To keep troops busy on the Ladakh border, a situation of repeated fighting is being created in a largely undisclosed location.
Troops have been deployed along the borders of Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Arunachal since the August 31 meeting in Doval. Maximum alert issued. Not only that, important officials are being dispatched to those areas.
Hot situation on the border of Ladakh
China has also increased its number of troops on the Ladakh border. Although the troops sometimes withdrew somewhat, after the August 29 incident, China brought mortars and tanks very close to the actual border. India has also increased its number of troops in Ladakh.
China is also supporting the Oli government of Nepal. Therefore, a special alert has been issued in the Kalapani region of Uttarakhand. Nepal has recently shown this region on its map. The Kalapani region borders India, China, and Nepal. In Sikkim, on the other hand, additional warnings have been issued at the borders of India, China and Tibet.
