Visiting India is falling behind after losing the first match of the series. Regular captain Virat Kohli and pacemaker Mohammad Shami are out of the team for the second test.
India will come out onto the field with a series of changes in the fight to turn around. The BCCI has already announced the template. Middle order hitter Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team in Kohli’s absence. In total, there have been four changes to the XI.
The all-rounder Rabindra Jadeja has been returned to the team in place of Virat Kohli. Right arm pacemaker Mohammad Siraj is making his debut in place of Shamir pacemaker. Other than Siraj, another person is debuting in this Test. Young right-hander Shubhaman Gill will be sent to play Tests for the first time. He will play in place of Prithvi Shaw.
Riddhiman Saha was not included in the Melbourne Test XI. Left arm goalie-hitter Rishav Panth has been returned. Meanwhile, host Australia will take the field with the XI unchanged from the first Test.
India lost the first round of the series by 6 wickets in Adelaide. In the second inning of the game, they were all out of the 36-lowest runs on their testing history.
