The Indian Ministry of Defense has once again removed from the website documents of Chinese forces crossing the Royal Line of Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
The monthly report, which mentions China’s “unilateral aggression” in Ladakh, was previously removed from the website. On this occasion, all the monthly reports published from 2016 to June of this year have also been deleted.
A source in the Indian Defense Ministry told Deutsche Welle that all the documents had been temporarily withdrawn. The documents will be enlarged and uploaded to the site.
In a recent interview, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Chinese troops had shifted their positions towards India. However, Rajnath also said that the Chinese army had not crossed LAC. The controversy has started around his comments.
Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi recently identified a document on the Defense Ministry website and asked: “Is the prime minister lying?”
According to Deutsche Welle, documents on the Defense Ministry website from 2016 to August 2020 show that Chinese troops have entered Indian territory. However, the Prime Minister said that the Chinese army could not enter through LAC.
There is also a lot of ambiguity in the defense minister’s statement. As a result, experts believe that all documents have been removed to avoid controversy.
