India is angry that the new 20 rial banknote from Saudi Arabia shows Kashmir as a separate country.
India has complained about its controversial propaganda through foreign media and a social media platform, AFP reported.
In New Delhi, India’s Foreign Ministry said it was “seriously concerned” about the new 20 rial banknotes issued as a souvenir of the Saudi presidency for the G20 countries.
Although Kashmir is located between India, Pakistan and China, the note shows it as a separate country on the world map.
India’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday it had asked the Saudi authorities to take “corrective measures.” However, Saudi officials have yet to comment publicly.
At least a few thousand people have been killed in the insurgency in Indian-occupied Kashmir over the past three decades, and since August 5, 2019, the Indian government has imposed a curfew and imposed a curfew on Kashmir since it lifted its autonomy.
