Inauguration of ‘Swadhinata Chattar’ in Pabna The First Light

The centennial ‘Maidan Municipal City Hall’ of the Pabna district city has been rebuilt and inaugurated as ‘Swadhinata Chattar’. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina opened it via video conference from Ganobhaban on Sunday morning.

Before the Maidan Municipal City Hall was rebuilt, it was known as ‘Muktijoddha Rafiqul Islam Bakul Municipal Muktamancha’. Now he has been given the full name of ‘Muktijoddha Rafiqul Islam Bakul Swadhinata Chattar’.

The newly built patio has been made with an aesthetic design. Terracotta depicts the great liberation war, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s speech on March 7, the fight for freedom, and the history of various movements. The platform is 48 feet long, 40 feet wide, and 20 feet high. In front of him is an open field 116 feet long and 118 feet wide wrapped in green grass.

On the occasion of the inauguration, a rally was organized in Swadhinata Chattar. Bir Muktijoddha Anjan Chowdhury, member of the Central Awami League Advisory Council, Sahabuddin Chuppu, member of the Central Awami League Advisory Council, deputy from five electoral districts of Pabna, Rezaul Rahim and the mayor of Pabna municipality, Kamrul Hasan, spoke on the occasion to convene the Swadhinata Chattar Implementation Committee and Shilpagosthi Plaza Director.
