The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges and Secretary General of the Awami League, Obaidul Quader, has said that four mega projects, including the Padma Bridge, will be inaugurated in June next year (2022).

He made the remarks at a press conference on contemporary issues in the conference room of the Secretary’s Department of Highway and Highway Transportation on Sunday.

When asked what he has been able to give the people after being in power for almost 12 years, Obaidul Quader said: “There are four mega projects in the government that I am carrying out. Their work is moving fast.” Work on the Dhaka elevated highway, subway, Padma bridge and Karnafuli tunnel are ongoing. I will be able to open them all in 2022. He is working towards the goal. The government’s goal is to implement the electoral challenge. The main challenge is implementing the promises made in the manifesto.

The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said that Corona has turned the world into a valley of death. In Bangladesh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on the one hand, we are dealing with Corona and keeping the economy afloat. Foreign exchange reserves have reached 43 billion pounds, growth is in line with expectations.

He said: “We are moving towards digital Bangladesh from all sides.” For Corona, many have lost their jobs and become unemployed, rehabilitating and employing them is a challenge. Our manifesto has jobs for the unemployed.

Obaidul Quader said: “If the situation is a little normal, the prime minister will decide to open a school-college.” Regarding the vaccine, the Minister of Health said that the vaccine could arrive at the end of January. A government has been in power for so many years, resulting in incomplete work. If one government goes to our country, the other government cancels it. It may be that we demolished the Padma Bridge because the Awami League did it. The government needs to have continuity to continue development.

Obaidul Quader, in response to a question about how he views the issue of arbitrariness if a government is in power for a long time, said: “Some people are bad.” There are people who show the power of power. We distrust them. Those who will show the seizure of power, but we have punished some. But the punishment is not just expulsion. Many live in very large places, falling from there.

Responding to a question from reporters, the secretary general of the Awami League said that the BNP’s demand for a by-election is nothing more than a joke. The BNP couldn’t make any moves like the Awami League. They cannot even show the value of making a procession.

Obaidul Quader said in response to the recent statement by the BNP general secretary about the midterm elections, it is the whim of Mama Bari. We don’t want a midterm joke on behalf of the midterm elections. He also said that BNP leaders sat in their homes and watched the movements of the police.
