Boat on the way to St. Martin

One hundred and fifty tourists were stranded in the Bay of Bengal on their way back from St. Martin to Teknaf. They were later rescued by calling 999. After floating in the sea for more than two hours, tourists must return to the island of San Martín by speedboat and trawler. Later, in a joint effort by the San Martín Coast Guard, the police and the navy, the tourists were brought ashore in a wooden boat at night.

“Without the cooperation of 999, we would have crossed the waters of Myanmar and we would have been arrested by the country’s border guards,” he said.

Confirming the information, Nur Ahmed, president of St. Martin’s Union Parishad, said: The tourists were then rescued by speedboats and trawlers and brought to St. Martin.
