In Gobindaganj, a young woman was gang-raped and arrested along with her boyfriend

Gaibandha: A 19-year-old girl has been gang-raped in a house in the Shivbari area of ​​Gobindaganj municipality of Gaibandha for two days. After arresting 4 young people, including her boyfriend, in this incident, the police sent them to jail through court.

They were sent to the Gaibandha District Jail on Saturday (September 26) afternoon. The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Gobindaganj Police Station, AKM Mehedi Hasan, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on Friday (September 25), the police raided and arrested the defendants from different places in the upazila.

Those arrested are Shahadat Hossain, 20, son of Anarul Haque from Chasakpara village in the municipal area and his accomplice Zahurul Sarkar, 28, son of Abdur Rahman Sarkar from Fulbari Nachai Kochai village, Jahangir Mia, 35, son of Abdul Hamid from the Boalia (Nayapara) and Kasapara village of Thanapara. ) Zahid Hasan (26), son of the late Yunus Ali of the village.

According to the police, the girl fell in love with Shahadat Hossain, son of Anarul Haque from the Chasakpara village in the municipality, through a mobile phone. After a long relationship, Shahadat called the girl to her area on Wednesday (September 23). He was later detained at a house in the Shivbari area of ​​the municipality. Then Shahadat and his friends gang-raped him. The girl left the house and went to the Gobindganj Police Station on Friday night (September 25) and filed a complaint. Based on the complaints, several police teams raided various places in the municipality and detained four people involved in the incident.

Gobindaganj Police Officer in Charge (CO) AKM Mehedi Hasan told banglanews that a case has been brought against them under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act for being involved in rape. When they were presented in court at noon, the judge ordered that they be sent to jail. Later in the afternoon, the accused were sent to the Gaibandha District Jail.

He also said that the operation was continuing to arrest the other defendant in the case.
