The number of crown cases is increasing in Gazipur. Police say law enforcement officers are being infected as they try to bring in coronavirus patients, care for them, and provide services to people of all levels, including monitoring quarantined patients. Members of the police have been asked to wear PPE and masks, as well as safety equipment. Even then, the police are under attack due to people’s unconsciousness.
Gazipur Sadar Upazila Family Health and Welfare Officer Muhammad Shahin said that samples are sent to IEDCR in Dhaka every day from different hospitals in the upazila. But for the past two days, information on victims in Gazipur has not been available. However, according to the latest information last Monday, 91 people, including doctors, nurses and health workers, have been infected so far. Among them are 21 doctors, 24 nurses and 48 health workers. These include one from the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical School Hospital, seven from the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, one from the Kapasia Upazila Health Complex and 12 from the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Hospital.

The neighbors of the affected people did not cooperate in many cases and abused their relatives since the crown turned positive. For this, the Module Community Hospital located next to Dargar Bazar in Rayed Union has been introduced as an isolation center.
