The former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CHC) and the veteran leader of the Awami League, ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, younger son and vice minister of Education, lawyer Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, the younger brother of Borhanul Hasan Chowdhury, has been infected with the coronavirus.
Salehin’s coronavirus was detected in a sample test at BITID in Chittagong on Sunday night. Said the chief of health of Chasik, the husband of his older sister. Selim Akhter Chowdhury said Salehin had gone to Dhaka a few days ago. After returning from there, she had a fever on Friday and her samples were collected and analyzed on Saturday. The coronavirus test was positive on Sunday night.
However, Salehin’s brother-in-law said he had no fever now, adding that they kept him isolated in his home in the mayor’s alley. If it shows no symptoms, it will be treated at home.
According to the Chittagong Office of the Civil Surgeon, BITID analyzed 218 samples on Sunday and found 22 positive coronaviruses. Of these, 14 are residents of the city and Chittagong District. Salehin is also among the victims. On the same day, 35 people tested positive for coronavirus in Chittagong.
