A driver was stabbed to death by a colleague on Sagarika Road of the Pahartali Police Station in Chittagong. The incident took place last Saturday night. Police arrested two people on suspicion of being involved in the incident. The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Anwar Hossain, the son of Mohammad Selim from Feni District. His home is in the Saraipara area of ​​Chittagong city. Selim Abul was the driver for Meris Cigarette Company, a subsidiary of Bidi Factory. Md. Rony, who attacked him, is also a driver for the same company.
Pahartali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Imam told Naya Digant that there was a fight between some Meris Company colleagues on Saturday night about picnicking at Cox’s Bazar.
Anwar was seriously injured when he was stabbed at the time. He died on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
He said that after the incident, the police obtained preliminary information that two people named Akash and Mithun were involved in the murder. Mithun was arrested that night. Later, according to his information, Akash was arrested at the Chittagong train station while fleeing to Kishoreganj on Sunday morning.
