In Barisal, there was a fight between the two parties to give less meat in the food of a bhuvat ceremony. The boyfriend’s uncle Azhar Mir (65) died. The incident took place in the Dakshin Rafiadi village in Barisal’s Babuganj upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
According to local sources, Runa Begum, daughter of Abul Kalam Hawladar from Kaunia Soap Factory area of Barisal Nagar, married Sajib Mir, son of Motahar Mir from Dakshin Rafiadi village in Babuganj upazila a few days ago. Two days ago, Runa Begum was taken from her father’s house to her father-in-law’s house. The Bouvat ceremony was held yesterday. 47 people from Kanepaksha attended the event. They sit down to eat. At one point during the meal, some of them complained of giving less meat. They had a fight with the people of Barapaksha. Little by little it took the form of fighting and persecution. At one point, the boyfriend’s uncle Azhar Mir was killed on the spot.
Chandpasha Union Parishad (UP) president Anisur Rahman confirmed the news.
Zahid Bin Alam, Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the airport police station in Barisal Nagar, said that police had been dispatched to the scene. No arrests have been made so far. The body was recovered and sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
