Nawaz Sharif, the three-time Prime Minister of Pakistan, went to London for treatment in 2019 with the permission of a court after he fell ill while incarcerated after being found guilty in a corruption case. According to his lawyers, he was given eight weeks to return to Pakistan, but failed due to health problems. Since then, he has refrained from commenting on various contemporary issues.

However, in the recent united movement of Pakistan’s opposition parties, Nawaz Sharif has spoken out against Imran Khan. Since then, the Pakistani government has brought a case against him and various members of his family and party leaders. After that, Imran Khan announced that he would take the initiative to bring him back from Great Britain.

In an interview on Friday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the return of Nawaz Sharif from Britain was a long process. But he said his government was working to bring him back quickly. In an interview with journalist Sabir Shakir, he said: “We are in regular contact with your (British) officials. We are working hard to get it back.”

Imran Khan claims that Nawaz Sharif has lied about his illness. And after getting permission to go to the UK, he didn’t go through any treatment. “If I survive, I’ll go talk to Boris Johnson,” Imran said.

It should be noted that Imran Khan and Boris Johnson have been friendly since before the election of the Prime Minister. Imran expressed regret for allowing Nawaz Sharif to go abroad, saying in an interview: “He should have understood that he has lied all his life.”
