A student was raped by Muhtamim from Mirpur Union in Bahubal Upazila de Habiganj. The incident took place at Anwar Madrasa in upazila on Tuesday evening by Muhtamim Maulana Noman Kabir of Madina Fadrakhla Madrasa. The victim was the son of a mosque imam. There are fights in the area in this incident.
Meanwhile, it has been alleged that villagers are trying to cover up the incident. On Wednesday morning, the rabbis of the village of Fadrakhla, Shawkat, Choban and Mortuza Ali, tried to get rid of him. The three-member team from rural Matabbar went to Ramshree village in Chunarughat upazila, the home of the tortured student. He assured the family that Muhtamim would be expelled from the madrasa next Friday and given a fair trial. At the time, Matabbara also warned that neither the RAB nor the police would know about the matter.
According to local sources, Muhtamim has been doing such bad things with the madrasa students for a long time. Various issues have been resolved through arbitration on various occasions. His behavior has forced the madrassa teachers to quit their jobs.
A former madrasa teacher, who did not want to be named, said the boys always hang out in his room. Former students of the madrasa also come to the madrasa to serve you. We stopped paying because we prohibited students from having sex. No teacher wants to stay in that madrasa because of Muhtamim’s behavior.
He further said that since he had a madrasa in his home, he administered the village rabbis in exchange for money and continued his illegal activities in Birdarpe. He alleged that Saiful, the son of Shawkat, Chuban, Rezaq, Mortuza Ali and Milla de Konapara village elders, had cooperated directly and indirectly in his work.
Former teacher Maulana Afsar Uddin said, “I quit my job because of the behavior of the madrasa director.”
Akbar Mia, secretary of the madrassa and mosque, said that Noman’s behavior was so bad that it was not like showing his face in the area. He understands nothing but the child. We have prohibited it. It is gaining value thanks to a few people in town.
The victim’s father said some people would come, including a madrassa teacher. He said he would meet with reporters if the problem is not resolved by Friday. “I am the imam of a mosque in Nabiganj,” he added. He must be punished in such a way that no other student is tortured.
An attempt was made to contact Maulana Noman Kabir, Muhtamim of the madrasa, in this regard, but her personal mobile number was found to be blocked. Matabbar Shawkat Mia from the village expressed her inability to say anything about it.
Bahubal Model Police Station OC Mohammad Kamruzzaman said: “I don’t know about this.” No one has complained about this. Complaints must be investigated and action taken.
