In Egypt, a model is in danger after taking a photo in front of a pyramid. He was arrested on charges that the photo session he was taking was “offensive”. The photographer who took the picture was also arrested.

CBS News reports that 26-year-old Egyptian model Salma al-Shimi held a photoshoot on Monday at Sakkara, a prominent archaeological site in Giza. He was arrested at that time.

An official from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said the dress she was wearing was “inappropriate”. He has broken his law.

Mostafa Uziri, secretary general of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, has called for an investigation. “Anyone who neglects archeology or our Egyptian civilization or culture must be punished,” he warned.

Meanwhile, another source said that the Egyptian model has not yet been detained. But it will be punished.

Photographs or videos for commercial purposes at Egyptian archaeological sites require permission from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
