The Ministry may decide on the opening of educational institutions and HSC exams. Even then, if the cabinet or prime minister seeks advice on the matter, they will be informed, said Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam. The cabinet secretary made the remarks in response to a question at a briefing of the cabinet meeting on Monday (September 26).
A virtual cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister from the Ganobhaban side and the Ministers from the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat.
Asked whether any decision has been made to reopen the educational institution, the cabinet secretary said: “We have said that the interim ministry has been given responsibility in any sector and the authorities will take action at their own discretion.”
On the issue of the opening of educational institutions and HSC examinations, the ministry says they will not make a decision unless the highest levels of government make a decision, said the cabinet secretary, adding: Or whatever ruling the Cabinet needs or the Prime Minister, if he refers us, will be considered as such. But now they have been given the authority.
