Rabbi Rafiur said that the ruling party thinks that if they are not in power, the country will not develop and there will be no awareness of the liberation war. Therefore, by showing development and GDP, they (the ruling party) are constantly forcing people to stay in power and depriving them of their basic rights. Freedom of expression, the right to vote and the right to justice of the people have been taken away. They have shackled the judiciary, the electoral commission, all the media. They have established a dictatorial authoritarian regime in the country to repress all dissent.
Twakir’s father said that although the killer in Twaki’s murder was identified due to the arbitrariness of the ruling party, he was not subject to the law. Even after the charge sheet was made, it has been kept for 94 months. The ruling party took power swearing to provide security to the people, they are breaking the oath step by step, violating the constitution.
Rabbi Rafiur said there was no precedent for such injustice, even during the rule of foreign rulers before independence. The government has suspended Twaki’s trial for nearly eight years to protect the party’s criminals. He demanded justice for the murders of Sagar-Runi, Tanu and Aashiq, Chanchal, Bulu and Mithu of Narayanganj. Two-and-a-half-year-old Sadman Saki, who disappeared two and a half years ago, has been rescued.
