The Secretary for Primary and Mass Education Akram-al-Hossain said instructions have been given to take classes in shifts considering the number of students, including following hygiene rules to reduce the risk of opening a primary school if the crown bud diminishes.

The secretary made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the secretariat on Wednesday (September 9).

“Before the inauguration, we have informed the directors of each school what guidelines to follow,” he said. There we said that the schools must be cleaned. It must have a hand washing system. You must guarantee the mask for safety.

The secretary said that so far the open school environment has not been created. In the villages, there are schools at the root level where we feel that the environment has not yet been created.

The mass education secretary said that according to the guideline, the change should be made in schools where there are more students. If you bring a class one day, you must bring another class the next day. With these issues in mind, the school will plan to open. This plan is for each school and will be assisted by the Upazila Assistant Elementary Education Officer. They will monitor whether the schools are running as planned.

“When we feel that the Kavid situation is returning to normal, creating an environment for the schools to open, I will instruct our principals and officials to follow the guidelines and clean the schools,” he said. We will sit down with the Ministry of Education and make all the decisions.

If the decision is made to reopen the school, the guidelines have been formulated considering six dimensions, namely, policy formulation, financing, safe operation, learning, ensuring access to the most marginalized population and welfare / safety measures, said the ministry.
