The Primary Education Department has instructed elementary school teachers and officials not to share the letter issued by the higher authority through social media, including Facebook, without permission. Iftekhar Hossain Bhuiyan, deputy director of the Dhaka division, issued the directive on Sunday (December 20).
The directive read: “Recently, it has been seen that some officers, employees and teachers are posting various letters such as orders / notices / circulars issued by the Dhaka Divisional Office and higher authorities on Facebook or social media.” Many officers, employees, and teachers are being harassed or humiliated. An administrative complexity of primary education is being created. The matter is sad, inopportune and undisciplined.
Furthermore, he said: ‘In this situation, Upazila / Thana officers, employees and teachers in different districts have been requested not to post various orders, notices or circulars issued by higher authorities on Facebook without the permission of the authorities. If any officer, employee or teacher is involved in such activities, they are asked to take action against them according to the rules.
