Addressing those who oppose the installation of the sculpture of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel said: “As much as you have said, be careful to apologize. He was addressing the leaders. by a religious group opposed to the installation of a sculpture organized by the Golpahar Mahasmashan Board of Directors in Chittagong on the occasion of Shyama Puja on Saturday (November 14).
Top leaders of the Bangladesh Islamic Movement spoke out against the installation of a sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dholaipara of a rally by Touhidi Janata Oikya Parishad at the Dhupkhola field in the capital on Friday (13 June November).
Opposing that statement, Nawfel said at the discussion meeting: ‘I saw the leader of a very small fundamentalist party standing up and waving the stage, also speaking about the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I would like to say to those who are speaking out loud shaking the stage and creating fear: don’t shake the stage too much. If the stage shakes too much, the ground underfoot will also soften.
“Stop your threats,” Nawfel said. The people of this country respect democracy. We want to say to those who will show the audacity to speak radically, to create fear in the minds of the people, to speak of the national institution and the father of the nation: stop excesses. For the Awami League, for the people of this country, Islam is protected in religion. None of you received that contract.
The Deputy Minister of Education further said: ‘Be careful, you have gone too far. I watch and listen to your excesses. No one is above the government and the state. The Awami League also knows how to make friends by putting their hands on his neck, they also know how to put their hands on his neck and give him a neck twist So do not think it is a weakness to make friends with a hand on the neck, to show tolerant behavior. If there is violence in the country, if law and order are destroyed, if community harmony is destroyed, we will surrender. Be careful to take time, this is not the place of fundamentalism in Bangladesh.
He said: ‘Speak politically. No one received a contract to defend Deen Islam. The great Almighty God has given everyone the responsibility. So for the last time, we want to say the words that you are saying on behalf of the Father of the Nation, shaking the stage, destroying communal harmony, do not think that tolerant behavior-democratic behavior is a weakness. Our energy is much deeper in the ground. Almighty God has strengthened each of us. We will not tolerate this Bangladesh talking too much by shaking the stage. Wherever you are, as far as you are concerned, be careful not to apologize, otherwise it won’t take long for you to give up.
“In this country, just as we will not tolerate hurting religious feelings, we will not tolerate harassment of people in the name of hurting religious feelings,” Nawfel said, warning those who have created anarchy by accusing them of hurting religious feelings. There are laws in the country, there are courts, there is a government. We will not bow down to a handful of fundamentalist groups.
The people of this Bangladesh are not communal. The Hindus of Bengal, the Muslims of Bengal, the Buddhists of Bengal, the Christians of Bengal will advance on the path of peace and prosperity in a secular non-communal setting under the able leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, he added.
Addressing all religions, he said: ‘There is nothing to fear, do not be afraid. Because we are led by the leader of the people Sheikh Hasina. We see some conspiratorial groups trying to create a climate of fear by creating misunderstandings between communities. But as long as Bangladesh is in the hands of Sheikh Hasina, we have no reason to fear.
He assured that there will be Miladunnabi, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Shyamapuja, Swaraswati Puja on Eid-ul-Fitr in Bangladesh.
