A man named Yusuf Rana has surrendered at the police station after killing his wife in Hazaribagh. Roxana killed Akhtar Moyna, 26, hitting him with an iron object Wednesday night over a family dispute.

The incident occurred behind Rayerbazar High School. The police sent the body to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. On Thursday, the victim’s brother, Farhad, filed a murder case.

According to relatives, there was a dispute between husband and wife for a long time. On Wednesday night, Yusuf hit Moyna directly on the head with an iron object. He died on the spot. After leaving the body at home, Yusuf locked the door and left with his two young sons and daughters.

Hazribagh OC Sajedur Rahman Sajid Police Station told Jugantar that after the incident, Yusuf Rana went to his mother’s home with his two children. We arrested Runner’s brother first. Later on Thursday morning, Rana was walking in front of the police station with a one-year-old on her lap. That’s when we arrested him. After the arrest, Rana told police that he was going to the police station to surrender.

Hazaribagh (SI) Police Station Deputy Inspector Abul Kalam Azad said the deceased’s home was in the Barinagar village of Begumganj upazila in Noakhali. She lived with her husband Yusuf Rana with a son and daughter in Anwar Khan’s home behind East Rayerbazar High School. Moyna was a housewife. Yusuf sold the vials.

The SI said there was a dispute between them for a long time. There were also fights on Wednesday night.
