Three people, including a couple, were killed in a fight between husband and wife in Shibpur in Narsingdi. The ‘angry’ husband also beat his wife to death.
The deceased were identified as Nazma Begum, 40, wife of Badal Miah, a carpenter from Kumradi village, Tajul Islam, 55, and his wife, Monowara Begum, 45.

Police and relatives of the victims said that Badal Mia, a carpenter from Pakundia area in Kishoreganj, married Nazma Begum from Dulalpur area in Shibpur 8/9 years ago. They had been living in a rented house in Tajul Islam since their marriage.
A fight broke out between Nazma Begum and Badal Miah around 4:30 am on Sunday. At one point, Badal attacked and wounded Nazma Begum and Sohag, the son of Nazma’s previous family. At that moment, Nadeem, another son of Nazma’s previous family, left the next room and entered the room and got into a fight with Badal.
Hearing their screams, the owner of the house Tajul Islam and his wife Monowara Begum rushed in and stabbed them. Locals then rescued the injured and took them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, where doctors on duty declared Nazma and Monowara Begum dead. Tajul Islam, seriously injured, died on his way to Dhaka Medical College.
Apart from Sohag, the owner’s daughter, Kulsum, was also injured in the incident. Both have been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The locals arrested the accused husband, the carpenter Badal Mia, and handed him over to the police after a massive beating.
