HSC: Many people are concerned about the autopsy decision

The decision to autopass all registered students without HSC and equivalent tests has been criticized negatively by many parents and students. Rather, they have expressed concern about the decision. Your claim that the announcement that the HSC exam results will be determined based on the average of the JSC and SSC exam results is not really logical.

They say that many people do poorly on these two levels, but the HSC test results make up for it. But this time the opportunity no longer exists.

Abidan Hafsa, an examinee, said he earned a GPA-5 at JSC. However, he did not do well at SSC due to illness. So as a result of HSC, he was ready to make up for it. However, due to such a decision, he did not have the opportunity.

“Maybe I could have recovered and done better,” he said. I thought I could get good results. I prepared very well for this. It is no longer possible because everyone has decided to perform the autopsy.

Hasna Banu, a guardian in Mirpur, said: “It was not a good decision to pass the exam. Because it is not the case that all children have done well at JSC or SSC. Many people do poorly on lower-level exams, but do well in upper secondary. This time the road was closed.

This guardian thinks that it will also affect his future life. He said many will laugh and joke about the 2020 HSC candidates.

Several examinees in the capital said that some of them will reap additional benefits from the government’s decision, while others will be delayed as they cannot take the exam even if they prepare well. This will cause problems with admission to the university. Many will not even have the opportunity to apply to a good quality public university due to low GPA points. There are objections.

Additionally, they said that since SSC and HSC results are important for medical, BUET, and college admissions, this decision can be a barrier for many candidates. They are worried about it.

Turya Aman, a Science College student, said: ‘I decided to start preparing for medical admission after HSC. But because of that decision, I now face uncertainty. Because even though the JSC result was good, I couldn’t do that well in SSC.

The result of HSC is 25 times with each point and SSC is multiplied 15 times with each point and 200 different points are added to the written test number. If I have fewer points because of this result, even if I get the highest marks on the written test, my marks will be far behind. He may not even have a chance in government medicine, ”said the student.

When asked about this, Raihan Ara, a professor at the Dhaka University Institute of Education and Research, said the decision was positive as the test was not possible due to safety in the event of a coronavirus outbreak. But at the same time, since it is a special situation, this situation must be considered in the case of higher education, he commented.

He said that since the 2020 theme is the most different, the authorities should have the opportunity to think. The Dhaka University professor asked to take note of the issues that could be a problem for this decision.

‘If a student does not have the opportunity to participate in the admission test in a higher education institution due to this result or there is a problem, then the authorities should consider these issues. These issues must be taken into account when deciding admissions to colleges, medical and engineering colleges.
This year, the number of HSCs and equivalent candidates is more than 13 lakh 75 thousand. Of which the number of regular examinees is 10 lakh 89,181 people. And two lakh 8 thousand 501 irregular examinees.

Higher education, such as HSC and equivalent exams, has been canceled to avoid the risk of contracting the deadly coronavirus. HSC results will be determined by evaluating the results of the JSC and SSC exams. The results will be announced in December.

Education Minister Dipu Moni made the announcement at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (October 8). However, the Minister of Education assured that there would be no problem for students to enter the university with an average number.
