On Saturday, the public health center released the ‘GR Kavid-19.blot’ coronavirus rapid test kit from Wuhan, China.

The kit was released Saturday to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a US-based research institute. USA The kit was developed by researchers at Gana Swasthya-RNA Biotech Limited, a subsidiary of the Center for Public Health. Now these will be turned over to the government, the organization said.

Government health officials declined to comment on the matter before the test, but the founder and administrator of the public health center did. Jafrullah Chowdhury told the media that they have 10,000 kits ready, of which the government may take several hundred to test. He said it was happening so that the government could compare.

The government is expected to give final approval in a few days after the kit’s launch. After obtaining approval, it was reported that one lakh kits will be delivered in phases.

Previously, the kit was supposed to be submitted on April 20, but the lot was ruined due to mechanical failure in the laboratory due to electrical failure. As a result, the entire batch had to be redone. Due to which they could not be delivered on time.

On March 16, the public health center said it had developed a kit to detect coronavirus infections. The Dr. led a research team at the Public Health Center to create a ‘GR Rapid.bot Immunoassay’ kit for the detection of coronavirus. Bijan Kumar Shil.

How this public health kit will work

The way blood group is identified, this kit called Rapid.blot will work very similarly, said Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury.

Jafrullah Chowdhury said that other rapid test kits around the world generally only have antibody tests, which has been done in India. As a result, there can be many errors. Both the antibodies and antigens will be evaluated in this public health kit.

The founder of the public health center said that after taking three cc of blood through a syringe, the serum and cells will separate. Later it will be analyzed for antibodies and antigens.

In general, the entire process will take 15 minutes to complete, he said. Here it can be understood whether the blood donor coronavirus is positive or negative.

Jafrullah Chowdhury said they achieved over 93 percent success using these kits.

He said the kits were made after investigating the blood of infected Bangladeshis. Previously, the government sent five blood samples for research.

What are the benefits of these kits?

Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury says: “After lifting the closure, many people will start to come from abroad. They need to be tested quickly. This is why these test kits will be useful.”

The founder of the public health center said that it is possible to easily train health workers to use these kits. As a result, coronavirus patients can be quickly identified with this kit anywhere in the country. Especially in airports and land ports it will be more useful. At this time it is unknown what he will do after leaving the position.
