The thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been successfully held in the United Arab Emirates in the middle of the Corona period. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has paid the Emirates Cricket Board 14 million for this, according to Indian media reports. The amount in Indian currency is approximately 100 million rupees.
This year’s IPL was supposed to start on March 29. But in terms of the situation caused by Kovid-19, it was delayed. Then a cloud of doubt was created around the IPL. The BCCI has set a date for the IPL due to the postponement of the T20 World Cup. The Emirates Cricket Board has come forward to organize the tournament.
The 53-day war ended with the final on November 10. Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians won the title for the fifth time by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. Had it not been for this year’s mega tournament, the Cricket Control Board in India would have lost around 4 billion rupees. But this didn’t hurt as the tournament went off successfully. That is why the Emirates Board can get Rs 100 crore.
