Well, the business that China lost, how much came to Bangladesh? Representatives of foreign businessmen and brands say China’s lost business has come to Bangladesh due to Corona and the trade war. Especially the purchase of knitwear. Because Bangladeshi entrepreneurs can produce those products at the lowest price. Corona’s exports of ready-made garments declined due to the return of lost business from China, but did not take a serious turn.

Let’s go back to the American market. Vietnam has the largest position in this market. According to figures provided by the Office of Textiles and Apparel (Atexa) of the US Department of Commerce, Vietnam exported garments worth 1.61 trillion pounds sterling to the market in the first 10 months of this year. These exports are only 6.14 percent less than in the same period last year.

Vietnam was once able to catch up with China in exporting garments made in the United States. Although Bangladesh is the third largest exporter in the market, it has never been able to reach Vietnam. Behind Bangladesh, Indonesia and India are suffering from exports. In the first 10 months of this year, Indonesia exported 3.3 billion pounds worth of clothing. Its exports have decreased by 20.49 percent. On the other hand, India has exported garments worth Rs 256 million. Exports to India are 26 percent lower than in the same period last year.
