Burial at Motijheel
The burial of Dewanbagi Pir Syed Mahbubey in Arambagh in the capital has been completed. He was buried with his wife in Medina Dewanbagh Sharif behind the Bangladesh Bank in Motijheel on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier, his namaz-e-janaza was held at Darbar Sharif of Dewanbagi in Arambagh around 2.30pm. After the janaza, he received an honor guard as a heroic freedom fighter.
Dewanbagi Pir died at 6:48 a.m. on Monday. He was 80 years old at the time of his death.
Devotees and disciples have been gathering at Arambagh Darbar since Tuesday morning. Janaza was arrested on the road next to Arambagh Darbar at around 2.30 pm. His fans participated in it. Before the janaza, according to Pir Dewanbagi’s will, it was announced that the boys would be the imams of his court.
There they gave him the Guard of Honor. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahidul Islam was present at the time. Dewanbagi’s body was later taken to Medina in a flower-decorated truck for Motijheel.

Syed Mehedi Hasan, Dewanbagh Sharif media coordinator, said that his four sons (Dewanbagi) have become Darbar Sharif imams. However, said Syed Imam’s son. They will continue under the leadership of Afshan Kudrat-i Khudar. Disciples from different parts of the country have come for their janaza. His wife died in 2009. He was buried in Medina, according to his will, he (Dewanbagi) was buried next to his wife. As a heroic freedom fighter, he was given an honor guard under the leadership of the deputy commissioner after the janaza.
He was born on December 14, 1949 in the Bahadurpur village of Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria. His father’s name was Syed Abdur Rashid Sardar. Mother Syeda Jobeda Khatun. He is the youngest of six brothers and two sisters. He studied from Karimia Alia Madrasa in Talshahar to Fazil. In the 1971 War of Independence, Dewanbagi Pir fought valiantly against the Pakistani aggressors as Commander of the 3rd Platoon. At the end of the war he served as a religion teacher in the 17th Bengal Regiment of the Army. Later, he established a total of 11 courts and more than 100 khanqah in different countries of the world, including Bangladesh. He acquired a great deal of wealth.
