Due to the increasing prevalence of coronaviruses and the non-opening of offices for only four business days before Eid, the general holiday period may be extended to the next Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
When contacted, the Minister of State for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, said: “A decision has not yet been made. If the Prime Minister decides the holidays, then he will decide the time after Eid.
“But with the current symptoms, I think the holidays will increase,” he added.
When asked when the government’s decision on the holiday could be announced, the state minister for public administration said: “Tomorrow (May 13) is the day after tomorrow (May 14).”
Speaking to officials from the Ministry of Public Administration, it emerged that there are only four business days left before Eid. If you open the office for four days, there may be more problems. Therefore, the holiday can be declared until the day after Eid with the close of those four days and Eid.
According to the holiday calendar, May 21 has Shabe Qadr holidays, May 22 and May 23 have weekly holidays, and May 24-26 has Eid holidays.
In the first phase, public and private offices were closed from March 26 to April 4 to prevent coronavirus infection. Later it was extended in several phases until May 18.
In the past 24 hours, 989 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, bringing the total number of people infected to 16,060. The death toll increased to 250 with 11 more dead.
