The Dhaka Special Judge 6 Court has been asked to send the case to the LCR High Court by 6 December.
The Anti-Corruption Commission had submitted a request to expedite the hearing of Haji Selim’s appeal against the court’s verdict.
In that request, Judge Md. A virtual superior court of Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Judge AKM Zahirul Haque approved the order on Wednesday.
The court heard the ACC lawyer. Khurshid Alam Khan. Lawyer Saeed Ahmed Raja was in favor of Haji Selim.
Khurshid Alam Khan told bdnews24.com: “The High Court has ordered that the lower court docket be presented before December 6. The decision will be released after the documents arrive.”
Haji Selim’s lawyer, Raja, told bdnews24.com: “On January 2, 2011, the High Court acquitted Haji Selim of his appeal. Subsequently, on August 3 of that year, the file of this case was transferred to the lower court After that, this record never appeared again.
“Today, the Superior Court asks the lower court to send the record or report on it. Now the record will set the hearing date after the paper book is made.”
Last Sunday, the ACC appointed Khurshid Alam Khan to handle the case.
Then, on Monday, the ACC requested to include Haji Mohammad Selim’s appeal against the court’s verdict in the case of the acquisition of illegal assets.
When the ACC resubmitted it on Tuesday, the Superior Court summoned the lower court documents.
District councilor Irfan Selim, the son of Haji Selim, was arrested in connection with the beating of a naval officer and the ACC took the initiative to resolve the case after discussing the RAB raid on the house of the ruling party deputy in Old Dhaka.

The ACC filed a case against Haji Selim at the Lalbagh Police Station on October 24, 2008 for allegedly acquiring assets during the state of emergency. On April 28, 2006, the court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
Subsequently, on October 25, 2009, Haji Selim appealed to the High Court against the verdict. On January 2, 2011, the Superior Court overturned the 13-year sentence.
The ACC appealed to the Supreme Court against the Superior Court’s verdict. Following the hearing of the appeal, the judgment of the High Court was annulled on January 12, 2015. At the same time, the country’s Supreme Court ordered to hear Haji Selim’s appeal again in the Supreme Court.
In light of that instruction, the ACC appealed on Monday for a speedy hearing on Haji Selim’s appeal.
