Hefazat’s central leaders warned of a tough program if the government did not comply with the demands within the stipulated time.

Earlier, students from different madrasas in the capital began to gather in the area of ​​the Baitul Mukarram Mosque to join the siege of the French embassy starting at 10 am. As the day progressed, protests by Hefazat leaders and activists left the mosque premises and spread to the areas of Dainik Bangla Mor, Paltan and Vijay Nagar.

Hefazat leaders and activists attended the siege program with various banners and posters. These banners and posters read: “If your mind does not cry in disgrace for the Prophet, you are not Muslim but hypocrite, you are the enemy of the Prophet”, various slogans including “I love Muhammad”.

During the Hefazat siege, traffic was stopped in the Paltan and Vijay Nagar areas. Later, when the procession began, traffic in the Kakrail and Shantinagar areas was also stopped. Large numbers of law enforcement officers, including the RAB and the police, were seen on duty in the Baitul Mukarram, Paltan and Shantinagar areas on the occasion of the Hefaz program. They also carried water cannons with them.

The siege of the north gate of the mosque began around 10:30 am. Hefazat leaders Maulana Nurul Islam, Maulana Junaid Al Habib, Maulana Shah Ataullah Ibrahim, Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, Maulana Ahmad Abdul Quader and others spoke at the occasion.

The embassy siege procession started at the Baitul Mukarram mosque after 12 noon. At one point, Hefazat leaders and activists fought with the police, removed the barricade and headed towards Mouchak. Hefazat Secretary General Maulana Junaid Babungari said at a short protest rally at the Shantinagar intersection: “The French embassy in Bangladesh should be closed in 24 hours. Broken diplomatic relations with France. We went down to the field. Otherwise, a strict schedule will be announced.

He further said: ‘I stopped here to protect your words. If necessary, I will not stop here on the next show. I will leave the French embassy in pieces, inshallah.

Nur Hossain Qasemi said in prayer: “Hefazat believes in the peaceful movement. We do not burn. We want to work for the welfare of the country. I want to protect the dignity of mothers and sisters. ‘
