Maulana Mamunul Haque, central deputy general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam and general secretary of the Dhaka metropolis, was attacked by locals while visiting Narayanganj’s Royal Resort in Sonargaon with women. They locked him in room 501 on the fifth floor of the Royal Resort at 3pm on Saturday.
Later the police came to rescue him. Mamunul Haque claims that the woman’s name is Amina Tayyab. She is the second wife of Mamunul Haque. He went to the resort with Amina.
Narayanganj Police Superintendent Mohammad Zaidul Alam said Mamunul Haque was staying with a woman in a room at the Royal Resort below the Sonargaon Police Station in Narayanganj when locals surrounded the complex. After receiving the news, the police went there. Mamunul Haque informed the police that the woman who was with him was his second wife. Later, the police rescued him from there safely.
According to local police, Mamunul Haque woke up in the morning in room 501 at the Royal Resort. Mamunul Haque has been staying at the resort with a woman since noon. In this news, the people of the area surrounded the spa.
Narayanganj Sonargaon Police Inspector (investigation) Tabid Rahman told this correspondent in the evening that we are talking to Mamunul Haque. Your safety has been confirmed.
