Hefazat’s intention is not to generate animosity with the government: Allama Qasemi

Amir Allama Junaid Babungari from Hefazat-e-Islam and Deputy Secretary General Maulana Mamunul Haque and Naib Amir Mufti Faizul Karim from Islami Andolan Bangladesh have been strongly protested and condemned by Manch Liberation War Secretary General Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi.

In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday (December 6), Hefazat’s secretary general expressed concern.

“We are deeply concerned that Islamophobia, an evil force, is spreading lies, insults and attacks against the clerics and the Tawhid people,” he said. There are also incidents of administrative obstruction in waz-mahfils across the country.

Following this, a pioneering organization called Muktiyuddha Mancha has filed a bogus sedition case against three prominent academics, including Hefazat Amir.

We demand the immediate withdrawal of this bogus case, the obstruction of Waz-Mahfil and the cessation of all propaganda against Alem-Ulama.

Allama Qasemi said that the religious freedom of citizens is guaranteed in the constitution of Bangladesh. Therefore, it is a constitutional right and a religious duty of the Alem community to ask for a proper interpretation of religion and to avoid deviation.

No individual, organization, or government has the legitimacy to interfere with the performance of academics.

Hefazat’s secretary general said that creating any enmity with the government is not Hefazat’s purpose. But we see that Islamophobic groups are wrongly persuading the government to engage in clashes with clerics, as well as some leaders of pro-government organizations with hate speech against the ulama.

We urge the Prime Minister and the concerned people of the government not to allow any conspiratorial group to destroy the peace, order and stability of the country.
