Supporters of the organization’s founder, Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, have called the Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh (council) conference of representatives “illegal”. They said they weren’t going to the conference.

The remarks were made at a press conference held at the Chittagong Press Club on Saturday morning, the day before the conference to be held at the behest of a section of Hefazat. At the time, they alleged that Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the emir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, had been assassinated. They also demanded a judicial investigation into the incident.

Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s younger brother-in-law read a written statement at the press conference. Moin Uddin. Hefazat-e-Islam Deputy Secretary General Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi also addressed the press conference. Some central leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam were also present at that time.

Supporters of Junaid Babungari, the organization’s current secretary general, have convened the council of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh at Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari on Sunday morning. Hefazat leaders were invited at the district level across the country, but Allama Shafi’s supporters said they were not invited. It is through this council that new leadership will be appointed in place of Allama Shafi.

In response to a question at a press conference today, Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi, Deputy Secretary General of Hifazat-e-Islam, said: “Maulana Mahibullah Babungari, the coordinator of the Hifazat-e-Islam conference preparation committee, resigned to Hifazat-e-Islam in 2016. He never returned to custody. If the council is held at your call, it will be illegal.

Furthermore, Maulana Ruhi also claimed that 23 of the 35 Naib Amirs were not invited. He added: “Although Hefazat has served as deputy general secretary from the beginning, six people have been excluded from responsibilities and the invitation to the council.”

“The ideology of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s non-political organization, Hefazat-e-Islam, no longer exists. One person has organized the council without holding any central meeting with the dream of becoming an emir, ‘Maulana Ruhi added.

‘Allama Shafi was assassinated’

Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the country’s most revered centennial, passed away on September 18 at the Azgar Ali Hospital in the capital. That same day, he was transferred from a Chittagong hospital to Dhaka. After Janaza the next day, he was buried in the cemetery adjacent to the North Mosque within the Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari.

Even before this, the disputes between the followers of Allama Shafi and the followers of Junaid Babungari came to light at different times. Which also affects the leadership of Hefazat-e-Islam.

After Allama Shafi’s death, Anas Madani, his son and Hefazat-e-Islam’s publicity secretary, complained that his father had been the victim of a premeditated murder. However, Babungari supporters of the Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari later denied such allegations and said in a statement that Allama Shafi had died a natural death.

At today’s press conference, Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s younger brother-in-law brought the accusation back to the fore. Moin Uddin. He complained in a written statement: “On September 16, the cadres of Jamaat-Shibir blocked the Madrasa by inciting some students from Hathazari Madrasa.” At that time, Allama Shafi’s room was vandalized, burned, ransacked and he (Allama Shafi) was forced to resign.

Moin Uddin further said, ‘Mir Idris, Nasir Uddin Munir, Mufti Harun Izahar, Inamul Hasan Gang looted and destroyed the funds of one madrasa after another while remaining in Junaid Babungari Madrasa. The malefactors entered the room of the Hazrat khas and carried out acts of vandalism, looting, blasphemies, threats and torture.

‘He (Allama Shafi) became very ill. Hazrat’s oxygen line was repeatedly opened while he was ill, causing him to bend to death and go into a coma. Although he was pulled out for treatment with great difficulty, the ambulance was stopped on the road in a planned manner and was pushed to certain death, ‘added Moin Uddin.

Meanwhile, Mufti Faizullah, the deputy general secretary of Hifazat-e-Islam, has announced that if a committee is formed at the Hathazari Madrasa to exclude the mainstream from the organization, it will not be accepted by the country’s scholars. The announcement was made at a press conference at the National Press Club in the capital this afternoon.

Mufti Faizullah also complained at the press conference that a section was trying to implement its own agenda by excluding Hefazat’s top businessmen and founders. Therefore, if the conspirators’ agenda is implemented, it will bring catastrophe for the Qaumi arena in the near future, he added. It was also alleged at the press conference that Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi was martyred in a planned manner.
