The Secretary General of the Awami League, Obaidul Quader, has rejected the proposal of the opposition, including Hefazat-e-Islam, to build ‘Mujib Minar’ as an alternative to sculpture. He said construction of the sculpture, which is under construction, will continue. We will build sculptures. It is up to them to see what they have to offer.

He said this while speaking to reporters at the secretariat on Monday.

The secretary general of the Awami League said there must be a sculpture under construction in Dholaipara. Sculpture work will continue.

Construction work on the sculpture under construction will continue. We will build sculptures. What they (the scholars) have proposed is their theme. The sculpture has been in different countries.

Two cases were brought Monday in a Dhaka court on charges of “sedition” for speaking out against the Father of the Nation sculpture. The President of Muktiyuddha Mancha, Aminul Islam Bulbul, made the request.

When asked why Awami League or Juba League did not file the case, Obaidul Quader said: “I think it is better to do Bangabandhu from any non-political party or platform.

When asked if anyone would be charged with vandalism of the sculpture, Quader said: “If we find such evidence, we will take action if there is evidence against someone.”

Bangladeshi leader Khilafah Majlis, Mamunul Haque, has opposed the construction of a sculpture of Bangabandhu in Dholairpar in the capital. He also threatened to throw the sculpture at the Buriganga if it was built. Some other scholars have also made “provocative statements” in this regard.

When asked if the government would take any action in this regard, the bridge minister said: “We are in government, we are in power, we have to remain calm.” You don’t have to warm your head with words, you have to deal with the situation with understanding.

“Religion is an important and sensitive issue in our country,” he said. So here, the Prime Minister himself is analyzing the problems and addressing them in such a way that we do not want to cause a chaotic environment in the country unnecessarily. We want to argue that what they are saying is not correct.

Hefazat-e-Islam leaders want to meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Quader said when asked if the prime minister will meet, if the prime minister will meet or when, I don’t know.

When asked about the government’s relationship with Hefazat, the secretary general of the Awami League said they have 1.4 million students in Qawmi Madrasa. They are far from the mainstream. The demand to incorporate them into the mainstream of the educational system seemed justified. Their demands have been accepted. This does not mean that they have been compromised.

Obaidul Quader said that Hefazat is not a political organization and that we will make a political agreement with them.

When asked if BNP-Jamaat had provoked any against the sculpture, Quader said: “We are investigating the matter.”

Regarding the BNP leaders’ claim that the Kushtia incident was caused by the government itself, Obaidul Quader said: “If I say, the incident was caused by the BNP itself. We are also looking to see if the BNP is provoked. here.

‘They couldn’t make a move on their own. They could not make a protest procession with a thousand people today saying great things, how can they cover their disability for their leader ”, added Obaidul Quader.
