The family of the health secretary claimed that the attack was carried out by people in political garb loyal to local deputy Nur Mohammad over a dispute over the construction of a community clinic.
According to various sources, including eyewitnesses, the home of Health Secretary Abdul Mannan and former Police MP Noor Mohammad is located in the same village. Among them, a community clinic is being built on the land donated by the family of the health secretary. Health Secretary Abdul Mannan is cooperating in the construction of the clinic.
The local deputy was not informed about the construction of the clinic and some people in the village, including those loyal to the deputy, were angry that the health secretary was building the clinic near their home instead of another convenient location in the village. And there was a lot of tension about this incident for some time.
On Friday evening, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan arrived at his village home in Chandpur. At around 11 a.m. on Saturday, he went to inspect the work at the clinic under construction not far from his home.
At that time between 25 and 30 people came and said that the local deputy did not know anything about the construction of the clinic. Then this work must stop.
When they had an argument with the health secretary, they left the scene at one point.
Later, around 1:15 pm, a group of people on autickshaws and minibuses gathered in front of the clinic under construction with sticks and sharp weapons. At that moment, they began to swear on behalf of the health secretary and asked him to stop the works.
Aceland Ashraful Alam, who was at the secretary’s home at the time, was attacked when he went to inquire about the incident. The victim fell into a pond next to Aceland and was seriously injured. At the same time, the attackers also beat up the construction workers working at the clinic and drove them away.
Upon receiving the news, the police went to the scene and a RAB team went to the scene and brought the situation under control.

When asked about it, Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam told Jugantar that Aceland was attacked and wounded in the attack.
The health secretary’s younger brother, Nasir Uddin, claimed that most of the attackers were activists and supporters of the Awami League. The attack was led by the president of the Chandpur Union Awami League, Mohammad Murad Mia.
The Katiadi OC MA Jalil model police station said that police had been deployed to the home of the health secretary to monitor the situation.
Local MP and former police IG Nur Mohammad told Jugantar that he was saddened and embarrassed by the incident. However, he and his people have nothing to do with this incident.
He stated that, as far as I know, most of the people in the area were furious that the health secretary had started construction of a clinic near his home and had removed the land from the farmer’s land for the clinic and the road. . This incident may be the manifestation of all this.
Health Secretary Abdul Mannan said: “A community clinic is being built in my wife’s name and a road is being built next to her.” On Saturday afternoon, some rebels asked to stop the construction works with sticks. They said the instruction was given by MP Nur Mohammad. During this time they attacked Aceland and construction workers and vandalized the workers’ houses.
