Wahida Khanam, an officer of the Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi (UN) of Dinajpur, and his father Omar Ali Sheikh, 60, were beaten and injured by criminals. This incident has caused commotion throughout the country. All have condemned this brutal attack. The attackers demanded a speedy trial.
The attacker struck shortly after 3:30 pm in front of an official UN residence. Wahid broke his skull and entered.
UNO was transferred to Dhaka by air ambulance at 2.30pm on Thursday because the injuries were severe. He entered the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital of the capital at 3:00 p.m.
The surgery was performed at 9 pm when the physical condition improved a little. Although the surgery was successful, the doctors said they were not sure.
UNO has CCTV cameras at home. Two criminals were seen participating in the attack. They had face masks and looking at them is under review. A smart police team is working.
CCTV footage showed two people participating in the attack. One of them wore a mask and the other wore PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
So that they cannot be recognized. At night they enter the house one by one and go out together after the incident.
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Abdul Wahab Bhuiyan and Rangpur Area DIG Devdas Bhattacharya confirmed the CCTV footage.
Previously, other administration officials present at the scene said the same thing. Members of the security forces are following the CCTV footage.

Faced with this situation, as the police station is 5 km away, the locals think that the criminals could cause this incident without any impediment, thinking it was safe.
Asaduzzaman Bhutto, general secretary of the Ghoraghat Awami Municipal League, a resident of the Upazila campus, said the distance between the Upazila Parishad campus and the police station is 5 kilometers.
That is why criminals often commit various misdeeds, including robbery at Osmanpur Upazila Parishad. The robbery took place at his home near the Upazila Parishad campus 15 days ago and assets worth around 1.5 million taka were stolen.
Locals said, on condition of anonymity, that Wahida Khanam participated in various campaigns after joining Ghoraghat as an officer of Upazila Nirbahi in November 2016.
He stopped various misdeeds, including the eviction of illegal establishments, the illegal extraction of sand from the river, the closure of illegal factories. He never gave in to injustice.
However, the police have not yet confirmed the motive for the attack, two of the CCTV and RKK images.
Every effort is being made to stop the attackers. The police superintendent said he is hopeful that he can make an arrest very soon.
Hours earlier, the Minister of State for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, spoke about the attack on the UN Wahida Khanam in his office of the Secretariat. Secretary Sheikh Yusuf Harun was also present at the time.
Wahida was seriously injured, the state minister said. It could be from theft or something.
