Akhtarul Islam said the ship’s workers had been on strike since midnight Monday demanding various benefits, including salary and allowances. Their demands were discussed at the meeting. The workers have called off the strike after receiving guarantees that their demands would be met.
Meanwhile, Akin Ali Master, Barisal District Vice President of the Maritime Transport Workers Federation, told NTV Online in the evening: “Our core leaders have met in Dhaka.
