The government has ordered all interested educational institutions and departments to observe the Day of the intellectual martyrs (December 14). The directive was issued by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education last Thursday (November 26).
Earlier, on November 16, the National Committee for the Celebration of the Centenary of the Birth of the Father of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Nation made a decision in this regard. Coordinator of the National Committee to Celebrate the Centennial of the Birth of the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Minister of Education Dr. Instructions were given in the letter signed by Dipu Moni to observe the day of the martyred intellectuals. In light of this instruction, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education has instructed the observance of the Day of the Martyred Intellectual in all educational institutions in the country.

The board further said that the National Implementation Committee will celebrate the Martyr Intellectuals Day on December 14 to mark the anniversary of the birth of the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Department of Secondary and Higher Education has asked educational institutions and all offices and agencies to observe this day with due dignity and instruct those concerned, including field officials.
