Ahmed Junaid told The Daily Star, citing Google officials, “Google suspects it was a ‘cyber attack’ whereby the service was down from 5:50 pm to 6:30 pm. Google’s service will be normal. starting at 6:50 pm.
Ahmed Junaid, vice president of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), said that Google had informed them about the cyber attack. However, the country from which it was made could not be immediately identified. Google has launched an investigation into the whole matter.
“The Google service seems to be working,” he said. However, in many cases there can be problems. For example, the Gmail address bar is not working properly.
Ahmed Junaid said Google had been contacted for a statement on the “cyber attack.”
