Fatema Akhter became involved in an affair with her husband’s younger brother, Samiul. Fatema married her brother-in-law in 2019 without divorcing her husband. The two had a secret physical relationship.
Samiul also kept money from his work in his steel plate shop with Fatima. Last month, family members took the initiative to marry Samiul. And then the prey is in danger.
Fatema disagreed with Samiul’s marriage. This created problems between the two. But under pressure from home, Samiul saw no way and wanted to return the money he had saved to Fatima. Fatema became more enraged by this.
On November 9, when Samiul left his home in Dhaka’s Keraniganj to work, Fatema called him and told him that she would go shopping in front of the Pir Yameni market in Bangabazar, Gulistan. If you go there, you will give Samiul the money you have saved.
Samiul went to the front of the Pir Yameni market to take the money. Then Fatema Akhter told him that it would not be okay to pay five lakh rupees on the road. Later, Fatema took Samiul to a residential hotel in the Pir Yameni market.
After being transferred to room 414 of the hotel, Samiul was anesthetized by spraying him with anesthetic. He was then mutilated for the purpose of killing him. After the cut, Fatema took Samiul to the National Hospital in a GNC autorickshaw with two or three unidentified accomplices. They took him to Mitford Hospital for treatment. Samiul was last admitted to Al Manar Hospital because he was not treated at Mitford.
Samiul’s older brother, Afzal Hossain, filed an attempted murder case at Shahbagh police station on Tuesday. Shahbagh police arrested Fatema Akhter, the main defendant in the case, at her father’s home in the Paschimadi village of South Keraniganj that same night. Shahbagh Police Station (SI) Deputy Inspector Amal Krishna Dey is investigating the case. He gave this information to NTV Online citing the family on Wednesday.
Amal Krishna Dey said: ‘Fatima was taken to court on Wednesday. A seven-day preventive detention was requested for the investigation of the case. Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan granted a two-day pretrial detention after the hearing. I am questioning Fatima for further investigation.
