On March 8, the first Kavid-19 or coronavirus in the country was reported. In the first phase, the government declared all offices and courts closed from March 26 to April 4. At the same time, all types of vehicles were prohibited from operating across the country. Furthermore, if everyone is ordered to stay at home, like many other countries in the world, 160 million people in Bangladesh are under house arrest, which is described in the international media as a “confinement”. After that, the unannounced closure or vacation period was extended in several stages until May 16. The government-announced holiday to keep people home still continues, while restrictions on shops and mosques have been relaxed, but the ban on public transportation is still in effect; But the image of the street is different. The infection could not be prevented naturally. Infection and mortality rates in Bangladesh are increasing as contagion from other countries in the world decreases. According to the regular health department bulletin Wednesday, 14 people died Wednesday through Thursday morning. One thousand 41 people have been identified as infected. In addition to the increase in the number of tests, the number of infected and dead is now increasing. In light of this, an office order was issued to extend the general holiday until May 28. After that, two weekly vacation days were added on May 29 and 30, so vacations are practically in-country until May 30. However, 15 conditions have been imposed for this.
But what is the benefit of extending this vacation? The conditions have been given before. People have been asked to stay home. But, have any of the general hygiene and license rules been strictly observed? Rather, extreme relaxation has been demonstrated. If people disobey the ban and go outside, go to shopping malls or stores to buy Eid without following hygiene rules, then these ordinary holidays will be of no use. So not only do vacations increase, people should stop leaving the house unnecessarily. It should be noted here that the government has admitted the huge financial loss, but has granted a general permit only for the protection of the health of citizens. But if citizens do not show responsibility, they will have to suffer the terrible consequences. A prominent doctor in the country recently told the media that if the situation worsens, a strict blockade for a time, a curfew could be imposed if necessary.
The citizens of the country will be aware, they will show responsibility: this is our expectation. At the same time, government law enforcement agencies must be stricter.
