Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab team has reached the bottom of the points table after a series of losses.
The team’s iconic players failed in seven straight games. Meanwhile, Anil Kumble was also tormented by the question of why Chris Gayle, the king of T20, is being kept.
Finally, the Caribbean giant Gayle is in eleventh place. And that is how the kings of Punjab became strong.
They lost match after match to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Lokesh Rahul’s team beat Virat Kohli’s team by 7 wickets in Sharjah on Thursday night.
RCB’s two starters Angel Padikkel and Aaron Finch got off to a good start after winning the toss. Padikkel made 16 of 12 balls and Finch made 20 of 18 balls. The pair made 72 runs in 8.3 overs.
But then the image changed to Punjab. Murugan Ashwin returned Finch for 20 runs. Padikkel was fired by Arshadwip Singh. Captain Virat Kohli took the helm of the team.
Kohli was at the gate, but the pace of the race slowed. Ashwin returned Washington Sundar for 13 runs. Jordan returns Shivam Dubey. Previously, Dubey played a 23-run, 19-ball cameo.
Mohammad Sami took two of the most important lands. Eddie Villiers, a hitter from Bangalore, returned to the clubhouse after being eliminated by just two runs from Samir.
Fast pitcher Sami also returned Virat Kohli. The captain of Bangalore was captured by the captain of Punjab.
Before being sacked in the 18th final of the game, Kohli made 46 of 39 balls. However, in the final two overs, Chris Morris’s devastating innings gave Puji 160 runs. Morris made 25 with only 6 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. Udana was undefeated in 10 of 5 balls.
After adding 35 runs of 13 balls, Bangalore collected 161 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the 20 allotted overs.
Among the Punjab bowlers, Mohammad Sami and Murugan Ashwin took two wickets each.
Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, the captains of Punjab’s first two matches, got off to a great start chasing the 182-run goal.
The two batsmen hit the boys in the bowlers’ quarter of Bangalore.
Agarwal played a stormy 45-run 25-ball inning with 4 limits and 3 sixes. Chris Gayle took the bat when it was thrown by Yuzbendra Chahal. Gayle collected half a century from 45 balls with five sixes. Unfortunately, after being exhausted, Rahul did the rest of the work alone.
He was undefeated in 61 of 49 balls with 1 limit and 5 sixes and reached 162 runs.
Preity Zinta’s team won by 6 wickets. In other words, apart from Chahal, no other RCB bowler got a wicket today.
