Members of the RAB-12 Bogra camp raided Belal’s bedroom in Seujgari on Wednesday night. The executive magistrate of the Bogra deputy commissioner’s office, Maruf Afzal Rajan, punished the players in the raid.
The condemned players are Samiul Alam Sohag, 35, son of Shamsul Alam from Ulipur Bogra Sadar area, Mamun son of Babu from Altaf Nagar from Dupchanchia, Jamal Uddin Pramanik, son of Mozammel Pramanik from Kuchpukuria village of the same upazila, Selim, son of Minarul de Malgram. Abdul Alim, 32, son of the late Afaz Mandal of Pallapara, Anshar Ali, 35, son of the late Hossain Ali of Laxmipur of the same upazila, Badal Mia, 50, son of the late Abdul Rabbi of Saghatia, Faruk Islam, 29, son of Habibar from the Mahrabari people and Mojib from the Kuturbari people of Bograbari. Rahman’s son Ziaur Rahman, 35, and Abdul Latif, 40, the son of the late Anshar Ali from Moria village in Gabtali upazila.
ASP Swajal Commander Kumar Sarkar of RAB-12 Bogra company said: “We have been monitoring the matter for some time.” The raid took place Wednesday night and 10 players were arrested while playing.
“There were a few more, our presence was felt and fled,” he added. At that time, he sought everyone’s cooperation to stop the crime.
