The total income has been around 5 lakh rupees. The merchant Ashraf Hossain bought the fish at the Medina Fish Market in Sonar Mor in Shyamnagar and sent it to Chittagong. The family of Abdur Gafur, a fisherman, is now happy after selling fish and earning a large sum of money.
Trader Ashraf Hossain said that Bhola fish is very tasty to eat like marine fish. Apart from the taste, the main reason for the increase in demand and price of this fish is that the fish gills are exported to different countries, including India. Depending on the grade, the price of fulkar is 25 to 30 lakhs per kg. He said valuable cosmetics and medicines are made from the gills of the Bhola fish.
