Dhaka: Executive magistrate of the RAB and official of the ACC of Savar accused of cheating. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a young man named Harun Aur Rashid (25).
RAB-4 Operations Officer (ASP) Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday night (August 30).
He said an RAB-4 team conducted a raid in the Dagarmora area of Savar’s CRP Road Police Station Sunday afternoon on the basis of specific allegations. Harun Aur Rashid, a con artist, was arrested during the operation. A fake ID card of the ACC officer, two RAB executive magistrate transfer notices, a wireless device, two customs officer caps, a police cap, three jackets, a shield and three mobile phones were seized from him. .
Based on the interrogation of the detainee Harun Aur Rashid, Ziaur said that the defendant had posed as a RAB executive magistrate, a senior ACC official and a customs officer in different areas of Dhaka, including Savar, Ashulia, Dhamrai and Lalbagh for several years. Basically, he used to extort large sums of money from different people by promising to help them in various illegal jobs and give them jobs. Defendant Harun is a fugitive charged in the Lalbagh Police Station and Sessions Court case.
