Rumana Akhter, an assistant caregiver at the residence, said there were a total of 72 residents there as of Thursday. The four Ansar members, who were in charge of security, broke the grid at 4am on Friday and fled to Pachil Top.

He said they came to the residence through court after being detained by police in their own district as vagrants.

He said that a general diary (GD) has been kept at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station in this regard. Police and Save Home authorities are working to find the fugitives.

Ali Ahsan, deputy director of the Faridpur Department of Social Services, said efforts were being made to rescue “runaway” residents. This is the first case of a resident fleeing this residence in Faridpur.

Faridpur Kotwali OC Morshed Alam Police Station said police had visited the scene. The two Ansar members who were in charge of security at the time have been questioned.

He also said that searches were being carried out in different areas to rescue fleeing girls.
