Lawyer Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), asked Amir Junaid Babungari of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh if he forgot the May 5, 2014 incident at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel. He also warned that no evil power will be able to occupy Bangladesh.

Tapas made the remarks on a human chain held in front of the main gate of the Supreme Court Wednesday afternoon to protest the obstruction and vandalism of fundamentalists in erecting a sculpture of Bangabandhu under the banner of the Bangabandhu Awami Bar Council. . He is the secretary member of this organization of lawyers.

Attorney Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said: “As long as we are alive under the leadership of the people’s leader Sheikh Hasina, no evil power will be able to occupy this Bangladesh. Mr. Babungari, I would like to remind you of that May 5th. I forget? He thought that Bangladesh would be busy only if Shapla Chattar was busy. As long as we are alive under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, no one will be able to occupy this Bangladesh. No evil power can occupy.

He said: ‘This attack by the forces of evil against Bangabandhu is not new today. By killing the father of the nation and his family in 1975, they thought that Bangabandhu would be erased from the bosom of Bengal. But it didn’t happen. Because Bangabandhu means Bangladesh. Bangabandhu is a conscience, an ideal, which is rooted in the heart of the Bengali nation. There is no way to remove it. It cannot be erased.

Mayor Tapas said: “By breaking the sculpture, they thought they had won. Whenever there have been unconstitutional activities, whenever democracy has been attacked, when the spirit of the liberation war has been wounded, we lawyers have always given a toothless response. However, we are ready to respond to broken teeth. We love peace, we are committed to building a nation for the country to advance wonderfully. But this does not mean that you (Babungari) are muddying the water and insulting the father of the nation, thinking that you will again lead the country to militancy.

Former Secretary of the Dhaka Bar Association and Chairman of the Human Rights Defender of the Bangladesh Bar Council. Mokhlesur Rahman Badal also spoke about the human chain. Attorney General and President of the Supreme Court Bar Association AM Amin Uddin, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Vice President of the Bangladesh Bar Council Lawyer Yusuf Hossain Humayun, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and former Vice President of the Bangladesh Bar Council Lawyer Abdul Baset Majumder and others.
